Kyle Larson Tops 2022 NASCAR Championship Future
Kyle Larson won the championship last year in style. He won ten times on the season punctuated by outlasting his fellow “chasers” on the Phoenix track to end the season. Simply, Larson’s #5 for Hendrick Motorsports Racing was and still may be the best car. There is little to dispute that Kyle Larson tops the 2022 NASCAR Championship futres a month into this season.
After four of 36 events in 2022 and what Kyle Larson is showing last year was no fluke. Think about all the races that Larson won and nearly won. Basically, more than half of last year’s races could have been won by the #5. That is correct, Larson had 20 top-five results in all. He had 26 top-10 finishes as well. There were so many runs from the Hendricks driver but undoubtedly the last five to six weeks saw Larson fire off four wins. His 14th at Martinsville even saw him lead 77 laps before mechanical problems hit.
The 2022 edition of the #5 will drive a little different but even in early testing, Larson showed an undeniable ability to drive that race car better than anyone else. Now, Daytona was a little tough on Larson as he finished outside the top cars because of a lap 190 crash.
There is little doubt that Larson will continue to lead the favorites in 2022 barring something crazy. Kyle Larson is one of those rare drivers like a Jimmie Johnson who does not give up. He will do most anything to win and maybe even block a teammate to do it. Larson’s win at all costs attitude serves himself well with the way the cars are now.

Frankly, his biggest competition may be his teammates at times (Chase Elliott (+500 to +600). There were quite a few tracks they all tested well at.
Chances for Denny Hamlin and others
Denny Hamlin is starting to concern some fans and pundits alike. It has not been the start anyone envisioned to start the 2022 season. Two of the first three races saw Hamlin’s car have issues from the beginning. Daytona saw him crash out and then his car just kept overheating in Vegas. That resulted in a drivetrain issue which shelved his car after 219 laps. On the bright side, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver led 31 laps.
On paper, Hendrick Motorsports Racing has the best roster. Hamlin needs that run of top-five finishes from last season soon. He is not even in the playoffs right now if the season ended this week.
Some hedges to spotlight include Ryan Blaney (+1000 to +1300) and Joey Logano (+1100 to +1150). As the year goes along, MyTopSportsBooks will have more value picks.
