The next round of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series is from Kansas, and as you would expect, we have free AdventHealth 400 NASCAR betting picks on this Sunday’s race.
- Where; Kansas Speedway, Kansas City
- When; Sunday, May 15th, 2022
- Green Flag; 3 pm ET
- 2021 Winner; Kyle Busch
The AdventHealth 400 is held at the Kansas Speedway circuit. The circuit is relatively new, having opened in 2001. The oval-shaped circuit is home to two NASCAR Cup Series races – the AdventHealth 400, and the Hollywood Casino 400, usually held in the fall season.
Last season’s winner in this race was Kyle Busch in his Toyota, while Brad Keselowski started from pole position. In the 2021 Hollywood Casino race held at this same circuit, the honors went to Kyle Larson, who won the Round of 8 race from pole position.
NASCAR 2022; The Season So Far
Starting with the most recent result, the winner of last week’s race was Joey Logano.
The Team Penske driver brought up his first win of the season in the Goodyear 400 last Sunday. In total, Logano led 107 of the 293 laps of the Darlington Raceway circuit.
Logano now sits 4th in the points table on 374, that’s 79 points behind the championship leader, Chase Elliott.
Speaking of Chase Elliott, he could only manage 5th place last Sunday. Despite never really being in with a shout of winning (he led for 0 laps), it’s another solid points-scoring race for Hendrick Motorsports driver, in what was his third top 5 finish this season.
The preseason betting favorite was and still is Kyle Larson, but he again had troubles last weekend. This time the defending champion was forced to retire with engine trouble in what was his fourth DNF of the 2022 season.
Despite this, as you can see below, the best NASCAR betting sites still make Kyle Larson the favorite to be the 2022 NASCAR Series Cup winner.

AdventHealth 400; Betting Picks
Now we’re going to have a look at some of the main contenders to win this Sunday’s race, and even though he had a disappointing race last Sunday, Kyle Larson remains the sportsbook’s favorite to stand at the top of the podium in Kansas.

It has been such an open season so far though, to the point that there have now been ten different winners in the twelve races to date. So, with that in mind, I’m going to look at some alternative NASCAR betting picks this weekend.
Kyle Larson Pole Position @ +600
Larson had just begun to show some consistency before last weekend’s disastrous showing. The defending champ had managed three top-6 finishes in the previous three starts.
He knows he can do the business at this circuit; he won here the last time he raced in last season’s Round of 8 playoff race.
At the moment, it feels a bit like Larson is getting favored on the back of last season’s performances. Something doesn’t seem to be clicking for him, and we are continually placing our wagers on him, hoping he will come good.
I can’t say with any conviction that he will win here, but I’m backing Larson to be on the pole.
Chase Elliott Top-5 Finish @ +100
The 2022 championship leader is having a solid season. Last weekend’s fifth-place finish at Darlington was his fifth Top-10 finish in a row, underlining what a consistent season he is having.
In this race last season (the Buschy McBusch Race), Elliott conveniently finished fifth. I think with a decent lead at the top of the drivers’ standings, Elliott will be happy with another Top-5 finish and I’m happy to back that.
Kyle Busch @ Top-10 Finish @ -190
Last weekend’s incident meant that – like Kyle Larson – Busch was a DNF, which brought to an end a consistent streak of five Top-10 finishes.
Busch has one win to his name this season, along with three Top-5 finishes. He is down in 6th place in the table, 89 points behind leader Chase Elliott. I’m playing safe and taking Busch to finish in the Top-10.
Denny Hamlin Top-3 Finish @ +250
Hamlin is another driver having a strange season. He is one of the ten drivers with an asterisk next to his name on the NASCAR website, but that win was also his only Top-10 finish this season.
Another driver who is going to improve at some point, and a point not to be missed, is that Hamlin has three wins to his name at Kansas.
I think that makes him worth a small wager for a Top-3 finish.
Ross Chastain Top-5 Finish @ +125
Chastain has been arguably the most impressive driver in NASCAR so far this season. He did have a disappointing weekend at Darlington last week, recording his third DNF of the season.
The best online sportsbooks have Chastain at +900 to bounce back with a win this weekend, and although I wouldn’t be against that, I’m taking him to finish in the Top-5 for what would be the eighth time this season.
