Also, Larson is a co-favorite with Ryan Blaney who ran very well last week (fourth in Phoenix).

The Next-Gen car has not been a problem for Kyle Larson. On the other hand, the math is off a bit from above. Still, 31.4% is very impressive in NASCAR. One weakness has been super-speedways for Larson.
The Larson betting favorite angle is in its fourth week in a row going into the Folds Of Honor QuikTrip 500. Again, watching a video of the first previous races in 2022 revealed some things. When one adds in previous NASCAR Atlanta races, no wonder why Larson is +1000 on MyBookie. However, it is Chase Elliott at +1300 and Joey Logano at +1200 that could as good a shot. Right now, Larson is the top pick. In his previous two “Spring” races, he led 142 and 269 laps. He can contend but will he win?

The Atlanta track could be treated more like a super speedway race. Turn 4 was changed. It may cause more chaos. There is a transition from 2 degree banking to 18 to 28 at the highest point. Also, one will notice the track is a bit more narrow. The frontstretch is just 52 feet wide, the backstretch is 42, and the turns are just 40. Previously, the entire track was 55 feet wide.
Some notables like Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin could see their fortunes improve this week. Harvick got pretty close on several runs and so did Hamlin. The difference is Harvick finished in the top-ten. This is a race that could be won from the middle. Ryan Blaney did start from tenth last year.
This race should level the playing field quite nicely. What we meant with “For The Middle” is simple. Test runs so far are being dominated by guys like Chase Briscoe, Aric Almirola, Tyler Reddick, etc. These are all drivers in the +1600 to +2500 range this week. That may be where one wants to look and place a few small wagers.
Looking toward previous practice, testing, and qualifying cannot hurt this week. The results may just shock you. One of our recommended drivers might just be Kurt Busch. He quietly has won here previously and has three top-ten results in four races since 2019.
Ryan Blaney Winning The NASCAR Atlanta Race?
Yes, there is someone who could surprise modestly. It is Ryan Blaney who is a co-favorite among drivers for the NASCAR Atlanta race. Blaney joins Larson at +1000 and one may want to explore this later in the week especially if others display good speed in testing. The No. 12 was again pretty fast last week in Phoenix (led 143 laps) but the final restart kept him out of the winners circle on Sunday.
Blaney, other than one unlucky result, has been great at the Atlanta venue. That could mean a nice result once again at Atlanta where he won last year after leading 25 laps. It was a springboard to his breakout season where Blaney made the playoffs and showed he could even be a contender to win the championship. Blaney had an excellent three-race stretch (one win, all top-fives) in his last three trips to Atlanta. History easily could repeat itself on Sunday.
