NASCAR Las Vegas – Pennzoil Penske Power?
One of the hardest parts about gauging the NASCAR Pennzoil 400 from Las Vegas is this. Dow Team Penske continue their dominance on the 1.5-mile oval on Sunday afternoon?
The Las Vegas events have had a familiar look to them. There will be the practices earlier on Saturday, qualifying later on Saturday, and then the race on Sunday. Hopefully, practice will start to improve as far as track incidents such as spin-outs, etc. Now, back to that Penske dominance. With the three-car team, over the last 18 races in Vegas, Penske had 14 top-ten finishes and two wins (both from Joey Logano).
Since 2016 at Las Vegas, the Penske cars have a combined "1" result outside the top 14!

The Next-Gen car may level things out a little bit but the bottom line is that Penske cars just run very well in Vegas. The first two weeks saw Team Penske perform masterfully. Austin Cindric won the Daytona 500 and contended for a while at Fontana even. Joey Logano nearly pulled off the win near Kyle Larson’s home basically. Nearly. Those Fords were running great and that bodes well for this week.
The Cindric angle is somewhat intriguing, as a long shot, going into the Pennzoil 400. Again, watching a video of the first two races in 2022 revealed some things. When one adds in previous NASCAR Vegas races, the bigger picture gets a little easier to digest. Cindric comes in at +2800 on MyBookie. However, it is Joey Logano at +750 that could have the best shot (he has won twice after all).
NASCAR Las Vegas – Pennzoil 400 Longer Shot Picks?
Once more, we’re making 2022 NASCAR Las Vegas Pennzoil 400 Betting Longer Shot picks — not one, but a few. Why? That is simple. There is a method to this madness. One can at least hedge a little bit with the eyes on a couple of other drivers who could crash the party. Always bet small (sometimes fractions of a unit) when making other bets guided by the futures.
After all, these feature bets with extra-long odds. For example, Austin Cindric (mentioned above) at +2800 currently winning the Pennzoil 400. The chances he winds up finishing in the top ten are long because he is a rookie. However, he has enjoyed success in the early going. And, Penske is Penske.
JGR Racing’s 2022 NASCAR Vegas Pennzoil 400 Outlook
After what transpired last week at Fontana, JGR (better known as Joe Gibbs Racing), faces some tough questions heading into the Pennzoil 400 this week in Vegas. The teams contend it was a protective screen that caused their cars to overheat. As a matter of fact, Christopher Bell ultimately saw his engine overheat and quit. It was an unnecessary DNF that could have been prevented.
Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is long numbers-wise heading into the Vegas race because of Daytona and Fontana. The goal is for one of their drivers to get a big result but last week, they faded and bad. Denny Hamlin was outside the top ten along with his teammates who finished 13th-15th. The only Toyota in the top ten was Kurt Busch from 23XI Racing.
This race should be a nice springboard for JGR. Both Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. have plenty of top-ten results under their belt and laps led the past three seasons. Hamlin has the second-best driver rating of 108.2 and has led nearly 20% of the laps. Truex Jr. won once and had several close calls much like the No. 11 car. As for Kyle Busch, he is always one to watch. However, this week, the longer odds are on guys like Truex Jr. and Hamlin. There is one number on Truex Jr. that cannot be ignored. Hence…
Chances for Other Drivers At The Pennzoil 400
Yes, guess who is favored again this week. It is Kyle Larson, who tops the other drivers at the Pennzoil 400. Larson comes in at +400 and depending on where you look, that can range from +300 to +500. That’s more like wiggle room as opposed to value. Now, does Chase Elliott, his teammate, go hunting? After all, Larson blocked Elliott out of contention last week. The No. 9 driver has a habit of losing his temper.
Other drivers to look at could be again Kurt Busch and even Bubba Wallace from 23XI. Also, do not sleep on Tyler Reddick. There is a reason why he came in as short as +700 at MyBookie. The youngster can flat-out race.
Tyler Reddick has been extremely unlucky to start this season, hopefully he turns that around starting this weekend #NASCAR

Is this the week for Christopher Bell? If one is looking for an easy small-unit longer shot bet then Christopher Bell is the one to take for the Pennzoil 400. His numbers could shorten come Saturday if JGR fixed that screen problem. Bell loves the tri-oval and can generate some excellent late-run speed unlike guys like Kyle Larson. He was right up with the Fords as well.
