NBA Wednesday Odds- Mavericks at Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs will try to win back to back games against division rivals as they take the Dallas Mavericks this Wednesday night, at 7 PM ET at the AT&T Center.

spurs_mavsSan Antonio had problems finishing the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday as they let a 16 point lead slipped away in the last five minutes of the game, but a Manu Ginobili’s layup with 1.8 second left on the clock gave the victory 110-108 in overtime.

“I told the guys at the (beginning of) overtime that it was all a mental contest,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “It would be easy to go down after losing the lead and playing as sloppily as we did at the end of the game. It would be easy to hang your head. So I thought that was the most important thing: letting go and moving forward mentally.”

The Mavs beat the Lakers 110-97 also on Tuesday with 27 points from Dirk Nowitzki.  It cut a two game losing streak for them.  Monta Ellis scored 10 points in a row in the fourth quarter and helped the team made the final push.

“Monta had a rough game to that point offensively, although he had quite a few assists,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “We needed a spark, he made plays. … That spurt, that got us the win.”

The Spurs are 7 point favorites in the spread; Dallas is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against San Antonio.
