The Washington Wizards have been fearless in the NBA playoffs this season, and leading the series against the Indiana Pacers 1-0, will look for another win away from home, this Wednesday at 7 PM ET at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The entire series is based on whether Roy Hibbert will make a difference or not. He has been a no show for weeks and the Pacers need him, badly.
“We tell Roy all the time how much we’re going to need him in this series and this playoff run,” Paul George said Tuesday. “You know it’s up to Roy to just come through and deliver for us.”
Washington knows the series can chance if Hibbert wakes up, but they have a plan ready. “We try to make sure none of their bigs are going to catch the ball in the paint easily, try to make their life a little bit harder and miserable,” Wizards Marcin Gortat said.
“I’ll just try to be a little more aggressive on both ends and just not be content with letting their guards and forwards get defensive rebounds,” Hibbert responded. “I’ve got to do a good job putting a body on Nene and Gortat, so I’m just going to go out there and pursue.”
The Wizards are 4.5 point dogs in game two of the series, and the game total at 186 points. Washington is 4-7-2 ATS in its last 13 games when playing on the road against Indiana.
