Milwaukee Bucks breakdown and analysis
Time will tell if Giannis Antetokounmpo made a mistake in Game 4. With his team up on the scoreboard in the third period, Antetokounmpo dunked on Boston’s Al Horford and then had some words for the Boston player. After that moment, the Celtics outscored the Bucks 68-54 and outshot them from the field 61 percent to 48 percent. The Celtics also dominated the Bucks in three-point shots after that, hitting 8-of-15 while the Bucks connected on 4-of-10. A seemingly small thing can cause a shift in momentum in a game, and it seems as if the Antetokounmpo dunk was that moment in game 4.
Antetokounmpo led the Bucks in scoring in Game 4 with 34 points, but that number was eight fewer than he put up in Game 3.
Look for Antetokounmpo to motivate his team and not the opposition in Game 5 tonight in Boston.
Boston Celtics breakdown and analysis
Al Horford had a career playoff best game on Monday. Horford put up 30 points in Boston’s win over the Bucks. He was coming off a 2022 post-season high of 22 points in Game 3 when he caught fire. The Celtics’ leading scorer in the 2022 postseason, Jayson Tatum, also contributed 30 points on Monday. Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown each had 18 points. The only starter not to hit double digits for the Celtics was Grant Williams, and he had nine points in 25 minutes, which was the lowest playing title among Boston starters.
Horford’s fourth quarter was fantastic. He has 16 points and went 6-for-6 from the field.
Our Pick
The Celtics have the momentum in this series. The 43 points the team scored on 16-of-19 shooting in the fourth quarter tied the team’s postseason record for points in a quarter. Further, the Celtics’ had not had a shooting percentage as high as the 84.2 percent they hit in that quarter since at least 1997-98.
