The Oklahoma City Thunder is the only team in the NBA who is not impressed with the San Antonio Spurs 19 game winning streak, mostly because OKC has dominated the series between the two. The Thunder will host the Spurs this Thursday at 8:30 PM ET in the best game of the week in the NBA.
Spurs have won 19 games in a row; they are the best team in the league right now and is not even close.Β San Antonio beat the Golden State Warriors 111-90 on Wednesday night. “Our system is working,” said Tim Duncan, who scored 15 points in 20 minutes.
The Thunder will be rested for this one; the last time they played was on Sunday against the Utah Jazz.
“It’s important to get the work in, but it’s also important to rest,” coach Scott Brooks told the team’s official website. “Most coaches like me want to keep practicing and doing drills and scrimmaging and special situations. You also have to rest the body and the mind and our players understand that we have to utilize all of our days.”
Also, Kevin Durant is on 38 game winning streak scoring 25 points or more; Michael Jordan has the record with 40 games.
βI’m just going out there, playing my game,” Durant said. “If it happens, cool. If it doesn’t, cool. That’s how I approach it — just playing within the offense. If a shot’s there, shoot it. If a pass is there, pass it. I try to play as simple as I can. If that (25 points or more) comes with it, then so be it, but if not, I’m not going to lose any sleep.”
The Thunder is three points favorite for this game; they have won the last four in a row in the series against the Spurs.
