The Portland Trail Blazers bounced from four losses in a row with a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, and now they want to start a winning streak when they host the Golden State Warriors, this Sunday at 9 PM ET at the Moda Center.
The Blazers win 111-103 over the Pelicans came with 27 points from Damian Lillard, 22 from Nicolas Batum and 20 from Wesley Matthews.
“I mean, we had lost four games in a row,” Lillard said. “Then we finally were able to close a team out in the fourth quarter and come away with the victory. It was a great feeling.”
Portland wonβt have their star LaMarcus Aldridge due to an injury.Β They are 5-1 this season when Aldridge is not on the floor.
The Warriors enter this game after losing the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday (111-98) and to the Cleveland Cavaliers (103-94) on Friday.
“A lot of voices,” said guard Stephen Curry about their previous five game winning streak. “You could tell people care. The fact that a lot of guys talked and voiced their commitment to what we’re trying to do is good.”
Golden State is 6th in the Western Conference standings, with 3.5 games below Portland, who owns the 5th place. The series this season is 1-1, and they will meet again and for the last time in the regular season on April 13th.
