The Golden State Warriors left game 1 slipped through their fingers, and now they are 0-1 down against the aging San Antonio Spurs; game two of the Western Conference semifinals will be Wednesday at 9:30 PM ET at the AT&T center.
The Spurs closed regulation time with an 18-2 run as they came back to steal a game that was almost in the books. “I have no clue. I really got to watch it to see what happened,” Manu Ginobili said. “They started missing shots. Steph was unbelievable in the third quarter.”
Manu was right; Steph Curry had another outstanding third quarter performance scoring 22 of his 44 points. Curry was awesome, but he got tired as the game finished after two overtimes.
The game winning shot for the Spurs came from Ginobili who was having an awful night until that moment. “It’s only the second (three pointer) one I made all day,” Ginobili said. “Good timing though.”
Coach Greg Popovich even acknowledged you live and die by Manu’s decisions. “I went from trading him on the spot to wanting to cook breakfast for him tomorrow.”
Keep in mind for game two that the last time the Warriors beat the Spurs at San Antonio, Steph Curry had eight years old. Curry wasn’t on the floor just for four seconds; that’s why he was exhausted.
Golden State has covered three of the last four matchups against San Antonio, plus, three of four have gone UNDER the game total.
