The Oklahoma City Thunder is one win away from getting into the NBA Finals, but they still need to beat the San Antonio Spurs this Wednesday at 9 PM ET.
The Thunder took complete control of the series since game two believe or not, when they found a way to beat San Antonio, despite losing that match. Oklahoma City leads the series 3-2 after beating the Spurs 108-103 in Game 5 on Monday night; clearly the momentum is on their side and it’s a matter of time to get it done.
“We never thought we’re supposed to wait our turn,” Kevin Durant said. “Coach always emphasizes that with every opportunity that you step on the floor. It’s a great opportunity to get better. To get to our dream”.
Durant had 27 points, and Westbrook added 23, but it was a huge three from James Harden that finished the Spurs last night. “The shot clock was running down, and I had to make a play,” Harden said. “Leonard was playing great defense on me. I just shot it with confidence. West Conference finals — that’s a big shot.”
For San Antonio, it was Manu Ginobili the only one who actually made an appearance from the Spurs Big 3 with 34 points, because despite Tony Parker had 20 points, most of them came from the free throw line.
“It’s either win or go home,” Ginobili said. “It’s our job. Nobody is going to feel sorry about ourselves.”
