The Los Angeles Clippers look for a fifth straight home victory against a team that seems to have their number, the Phoenix Suns, this Wednesday at 10:30 PM ET, at the STAPLES Center. The Clips are 6.5 favorites for tonight.
The Clippers look to snap a four-game losing streak against the Suns, and they are confident that playing at home will give them a better chance to leave the arena with a victory. After losing three in a row, Los Angeles have won two straight games; including a 97-85 success over New Orleans on Monday as they covered in a 10.5-point favorite
“I think the last couple of games we locked in,” forward Kenyon Martin told the Clippers’ official website after Monday’s 97-85 win over the Hornets. “We’ve done a better job of taking a teams’ tendencies away and it’s worked for us”.
At home the Clippers seem to play with more energy and determination on the defensive side of the ball; they allow 86 points per game and a 44.4 percent from the field in their last four games at the Staples center. However, against Phoenix they have dropped 13 of 14 in the series, with a lone victory 108-103 at home in 2010.
The Suns smashed the Cavaliers (who hasnโt?) 108-83 on Sunday, but failed to win against the Spurs on Tuesday with a 107-100 result. They failed to cover the 1.5-point spread as underdogs.
Consider the Clippers are 0-10 when playing on a Wednesday night and Phoenix is 7-3 this season, and the total has gone UNDER in 4 of last 5 games in the series.
