One of the most exciting games in the Monday NBA lineup has the San Antonio Spurs visiting the Houston Rockets, at the Toyota Center at 8 PM ET.
San Antonio clinched home court advantage over the Western Conference playoffs after beating the Phoenix Suns 112-104 on Friday.
“It’s a big plus,” the Spurs guard Danny Green said. “It’s not something we were focused on, but we know it will help us. We’ll be at home for most of the playoffs. The biggest thing for us is to stay healthy and to build chemistry. Winning games in the process helps and we get home-court advantage. That’s just the extra bonus for us.”
The Rockets are fourth in the West; they needed a win over the New Orleans Pelicans, and they got it with an 111-104 result.
“We needed this win more than anything,” Rockets James Harden said after scoring 33 points. “Pat was knocking down shots and Dwight was an easy rim target, so it made things easier for me,” Harden added.
The NBA betting trends have a few good details with the Rockets 5-0 ATS in their last 5 Monday games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 day rest.
The Spurs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games.
