The San Antonio Spurs have been training for a week, while the Los Angeles Clippers were busy trying to get rid off the Memphis Grizzlies; Spurs and Clippers will start their series this Tuesday at 9:30 PM ET.
The Spurs are 11 points favorites in the NBA odds.
Los Angeles travelled to Memphis, and they were able to shock the Grizzlies 82-72 in game seven of the series. “That’s why it’s seven games,” Kenyon Martin said. “If you don’t do it before, you get another chance. So they did what they had to do; they came and stole home court back on our floor. … We had a chance to close it out. We knew we let it go; an opportunity get away.”
The bench scored 25 points and took the handle in the fourth quarter of the game. “Our bench was our MVP,” Clippers guard Randy Foye said. “They realized what they had to do. We had a lot of guys hurt, so we just continued to grind.”
“I want the guys to enjoy this, and then we’ll regroup tomorrow and focus in on that,” Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. “But obviously another big challenge for us.”
That big challenge is arguably the best in the NBA. San Antonio played the first round of the series looking like they can’t be stop.
The great matchup of the series will be Clippers’ guard Chris Paul against Spurs’ point guard Tony Parker; both are the alpha male of their teams but with different ways to handle their offense.
The series between these two teams in the regular season ended with two victories for San Antonio, and one for the Los Angeles.
Take the Spurs to win, but 11 points seem too many to cover in a playoff game.
