The Brooklyn Nets are on a five-game losing skid against the Boston Celtics. The Nets won the first game of the 2021-22 regular season series between the teams by a score of 123-104. Since that November 2021 win, the Celtics have run off five straight wins over Brooklyn. Boston defeated the Nets in the final three regular season meetings between these two teams and then went 2-0 to open the 2022 NBA playoff series.
The first two games of the playoff series between the Celtics, who are the No. 2 club in the Eastern Conference and the Nets, who are No. 7 in the East took place in Boston. The Celtics defeated the Nets 115-114 on Sunday and then 114-107 on Wednesday. The series shifts to Brooklyn for Game 3, which takes place on Saturday night.

Celtics vs. Nets Game 3 odds
Boston Celtics breakdown and analysis
The Boston Celtics found themselves down by 17 points at one point of their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. However, the team did not get flustered and the Celtics were able to turn things around and pull off a 114-107 win to go up 2-0 over the Nets in their Eastern Conference playoff series.
Jaylen Brown scored 22 points for Boston and Jayson Tatum added 19. In addition, Al Horford scored 16 points and Daniel Theis had 15.
The defense of the Celtics has kept Kevin Durant from putting up points and the crowd in Boston has played a role in frustrating Kyrie Irving.
Brooklyn Nets breakdown and analysis
The Brooklyn Nets were one of the favorites to win the 2022 NBA Title. The way things stand today, the odds seem to be against that happening. Brooklyn fell into a 0-2 hole against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday and are now at the point where they need to play desperation basketball to move onto the next round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Kevin Durant was ice cold in the second half of Wednesday’s Game 2. The Nets superstar went 0-10 from the field in the second half of the game and finished 4-for-17 from the field. Over the first two games of the series, Durant is a combined 13-for-40 from the field.
If the Nets are going to win this series, Durant needs to find his scoring touch. He averaged 29.9 points per game in the regular season and hit on 51.8 percent of his field goals and 38.3 percent of his 3-pointers. Durant is shooting 31.7 percent from the field and 38.3 percent on his 3-point shots.
2021-22 NBA season series
The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets played four times during the 2021-22 NBA season. Brooklyn won the first game of their series by a score of 123-104, but Boston won the final three games of the season (126-91, 129-106, 126-120).
The Brooklyn Nets will benefit from the change of venue for Game 3. That should make things a little easier for Kyrie Irving and perhaps take away some of the pressure that is on Kevin Durant. However, if the Nets stumble at the start of Game 3, all of that pressure will go right back onto the shoulder of the team’s big-name players.
I think the series moving to Brooklyn will be enough to get the Nets the win in Game 3 of this series.
Pick: Brooklyn Nets to beat Boston Celtics.
