The Golden State Warriors currently lead the Houston Rockets 2-1 in their first-round NBA playoff series after a 104-93 win in Game 3.
Even without star forward Jimmy Butler, the Warriors turned the game around in the second half, dominating the fourth quarter 33-22 to clinch the victory.
Stephen Curry was the standout player, scoring 36 points on 12/23 shooting and 5/13 from the 3-point line. He’s entering the top 10 on the NBA’s all-time playoff scoring list.
Game 4 is set for Monday at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT at the Chase Center in San Francisco and will air on TNT, SCHN, NBC Sports Bay Area, and truTV.

Game Preview (Rockets vs. Warriors)
The Warriors’ defense took advantage of the Rockets’ offensive struggles. They forced 14 turnovers and restricted Houston to just 19-for-48 shooting in the paint and 14-for-24 from the free-throw line.

Houston Rockets +3.5 Points | -112 | -110 | -105 |
Golden State Warriors -3.5 Points | -108 | -110 | -115 |
The Rockets faced difficulties offensively. Fred VanVleet led with 17 points but struggled after a solid first quarter.
Alperen Şengün recorded a double-double, while Dillon Brooks added 13 points before fouling out. Houston’s shooting inefficiencies and turnovers were detrimental, as they couldn’t hold onto their early lead.
As they prepare for Game 4, the Warriors are favored by 3.5 points, with the total set at 203.
With their home-court advantage and playoff experience, Golden State has the edge, but Houston’s young talent, led by Jalen Green and Şengün, is determined to even the series.

For a shot at victory, the Rockets must improve their shooting efficiency and reduce turnovers. With the series at stake, both teams will look to make essential adjustments in this crucial game.
The Warriors win in game 3 without Jimmy Butler was very impressive, but I think the Rockets bounce back in game 4. The Rockets and Warriors will go back and forth in this series.
I’ll take the Rockets to cover the 3.5 point spread as the best bet in this one.

Total Points
Let’s take a look at the total points prop in this one. Both these teams have played a very aggressive defensive style that’s limited offensive opportunities.
Total Points | |||
Over 203 | -110 | -110 | -110 |
Under 203 | -110 | -110 | -110 |
With that in mind, I’m leaning toward the under for game four. During the regular season, both teams ranked in the top 10 for defensive performance.
The Rockets ranked fourth in defensive efficiency, giving up just 108.0 points per 100 possessions, while the Warriors were close behind at seventh (108.9). In every game of this series, at least one team has failed to reach 100 points.

Despite Steph Curry’s incredible performance in game 3, I don’t know if Jimmy Butler will return for this game and I don’t think you can depend on another elite Curry’s performance.
The longer this series goes, the more familiar with one another they will be.
As good as both of these teams were defensively in the regular season, they’ve been even better in the playoffs. They both scored 95 points or less in the first game.
As these Western Conference rivals continue to adapt to each other’s strategies, I expect their defensive play to improve even more.
The best bet in this one is Under 203 points at Bovada at -110 odds.
