76ers vs. Pistons

Philadelphia hosts the winless Pistons on Thursday night after a hard-fought road game at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday against the Knicks. According to recent reports, the Sixers are no longer fining Ben Simmons for missed games and practices, but the point guard remains out of action. Nevertheless, Joel Embiid and company should have no trouble with a rebuilding Detroit team.

Bulls vs. Knicks

The Bulls are off to the franchise’s best start since the Michael Jordan years (1996-97 season), improving to 4-0 with a 111-108 victory against the Raptors on Monday. Sadly, Chicago had previously not been over .500 at any point during a season since March 2017 – but new acquisitions like DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic have led to victories over the Pistons (twice), Pelicans and Raptors.

New York should provide a much stiffer challenge than those clubs, as will the Bulls’ following five games against the Jazz, Celtics, Sixers (twice) and Nets. However, we think Chicago is ready for their first test against the Knicks.

Spurs vs. Mavericks

There’s no doubt who the top team in Texas is. After taking care of the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, the Mavericks will host San Antonio on Thursday. Jason Kidd’s new offense looked sluggish in a season-opening loss to Atlanta and a win over Toronto, but Luka Doncic will make any system look good before too long.

Against a rebuilding Spurs team lacking stars and firepower, Dallas should cruise to an easy divisional win.

Warriors vs. Grizzlies

Like the Bulls, Golden State remains an undefeated 4-0. Steph Curry was named Western Conference Player of the Week after triple-doubling (21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) against the Lakers, scoring 45-points versus the Clippers, and putting up 27 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists against Sacramento.

Ja Morant’s Grizzlies are certainly no pushovers, but will be playing on back-to-back nights following a tough road game with the Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Let’s make it 5-0 for the Warriors.
