The (46-17) Indiana Pacers needs to bounce back after three losses in a row when they visit the American Airlines Center to face the (37-26) Dallas Mavericks, this Sunday at 7:30 PM ET.
The Pacers lost to the Golden State Warriors, and most recently against the Charlotte Bobcats and the Houston Rockets; those last two losses in an embarrassing way.
“We just need to win games at this point,” center Roy Hibbert said. “We’re just putting the emphasis on trying to get better. We’ve been playing awful.”
“Every team I’ve ever been a part of has had a stretch like we’re in right now,” Pacers coach Frank Vogel said of his team. “And since I’ve been here we’ve always worked our way out of it, so I’m sure we will. It stinks right now. It’s not fun right now, but we’ve got a good team and we’ll regroup.”
The Mavs beat the Blazers on Friday 103-98; they had a 30 points advantage in the first quarter but then things got complicated.
“That’s what it comes down to, one stop and one opportunity, one stop,” Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said. “That’s how you’ve got to look at it. It’s going to be a character test. If we’re not up to it, then we don’t deserve to go to the playoffs.”
The game for this Sunday is listed as a pick’em in the NBA betting lines. Indiana is 3-11 SU in its last 14 games when playing on the road against Dallas.
