The Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Clippers clash in the best NBA matchup from this Monday, at the Staples Center, at 10:30 PM ET.
The Suns lost to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday 113-107 and dropped to 9th place in the Western Conference with a 36-26 record, same as Memphis but losing the tiebreaker.
“I thought in that third quarter we really got outhustled,” Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. “They were active. They were aggressive for the ball. They wanted it more than we did.”
“That’s just the whole point about learning how to be a playoff team,” said Gerald Green, who scored 25 points against Golden State. “Certain things you can get away with on certain nights, but when you’re playing a team like this — a team that’s been in the playoffs — you have to be solid for 48 minutes.”
The Clippers are on a seven game winning streak, with their last victory coming against the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday 109-108. Los Angeles now has the best offense in the league averaging 107.8 points per game, but they need a win to put pressure on the Rockets, which currently own the third spot in the Conference standings, with a half a game lead.
The NBA Odds have the Clippers as 10.5 point favorites for Monday Night. Phoenix is 16-6 SU in their last 22 games when playing LA Clippers, but 2-4 ATS in the last 6 games in the series.
