The San Antonio Spurs will take on the Los Angeles Clippers, this Tuesday Night at 10:30 PM ET at Staples Center, in what should be one of the best games of the week.
The Spurs enter this second half of the season with a 38-15 record straight up and 25-28 against the spread. San Antonio beat the Boston Celtics 104-92 in their last game before the all-star game with 25 points from Tim Duncan.
“More than anything, Tim led the way for us as he has for 16 or 17 years,” coach Gregg Popovich said about his team pulling away in the final quarter 33-26.
“I started out the second half the exact same way and finally got some to fall,” Duncan added. “They kept coming to me, and I just put it in the hole. There wasn’t anything I changed, anything I saw.”
The Clippers are 37-18, but they have only lost four of their 24 games at home this season. They are also 31-24 against the spread this season with their last win coming against the Portland Trail Blazers 122-177.
Los Angeles best weapon this season has been Blake Griffin, who has improved tremendously, especially his mid-range shot. Griffin scored 38 points in the All-Star Game on Sunday and looked every bit as impressive as he does in the Clippers.
The LA Clippers are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games when playing at home against San Antonio, but the Spurs are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games.
