NBA Odds- Houston Rockets at Portland Trail Blazers

Two of the best teams in the NBA meet this Thursday Night as the Houston Rocket visits the Portland Trail Blazers, at 10 PM ET at Moda Center.

The Blazers are the best team in the Western Conference with an 18-4 record (9-2 home); they have won five of the last six. “With our offense, I want us to be opportunistic with whatever the game gives us,” Portland coach Terry Stotts said. “If it gives us 3s, we knock them down. If it gives us the paint, that’s good too with LaMarcus on the block. One thing we’ve done well with offensively is we take what the game gives us.”

Houston is 15-7 this season (5-4 away) and has won the last two in a row against Golden State and the Orlando Magic; center Dwight Howard has looked better with every game that passes.

“We’re learning how to play around Dwight,” assistant coach Kelvin Sampson told the team’s official website. “I thought early on we were probably force-feeding him a little too much. Now we’re being a little bit more selective, and Dwight is doing a good job of passing. … So we’re playing through him (better) and then James – James has just been a lot more efficient.”

Houston has won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Portland, covering the spread in those seven, but with one push and two losses.

The NBA odds have the Blazers as 3.5 point favorites.
