NCAAB: 2022 Final Four Betting Picks

The field of 64 that began the hunt for the 2022 NCAA Basketball Championship has been whittled down to four teams as we near the end of the 2022 edition of the College Basketball Season. Here are the important dates remaining on the schedule for the NCAAB Season.

  • Final Four: April 2 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans
  • National Championship: April 4 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans

Last year’s champion, the Baylor Bears were eliminated in the second round by the No. 8 seeded University of North Carolina. Baylor was a No. 1 seed heading into this year’s tourney. North Carolina remains in the mix to win the 2022 NCAAB Championship.

The team who was the favorite to take the 2022 title, the Gonzaga Bulldogs, was eliminated in the Sweet 16 round when they dropped a 74-68 game to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas then fell to the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight, losing 78-69. Duke, like North Carolina, is in the Final Four.

Villanova Wildcats+170+170+137+170
Kansas Jayhawks-195-195-153-200

The Villanova Wildcats lost a huge piece of its team when junior guard Justin Moore tore his Achilles tendon in the late stages of Villanova’s win over Houston in the Elite Eight. Moore entered that game averaging 14.7 points per game on 42% shooting during March Madness. Villanova is not a one-player team, but Moore is hard to replace.

Villanova is great at the free-throw line and that will help them, but to beat Kansas, the Wildcats are going to need to hit three-pointers and the Jayhawks are strong at defending everywhere on the court.

Expect Kansas to come out aggressive and put Villanova on its heels early and test how the Wildcats perform without Moore. In addition to scoring depth and strong defense, Kansas will outwork Villanova on the boards. In its win over Miami, Kansas had a 50 percent field goal percentage and +13 in rebounds.

Pick: Kansas to beat Villanova

North Carolina Tar Heels+165+165+132+165
Duke Blue Devils-190-190-148-190

Saturday marks the third meeting between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils in 2022. Duke won the first meeting 87-67 on February 5. The Tar Heels then spoiled the last game retiring coach Mike Krzyzewski played at Cameron Indoor Stadium, beating the Blue Devils 94-81 on March 5. The two clubs face off in the tiebreaker on Saturday with the winner moving on to the 2022 NCAAB Championship Game.

North Carolina needs to play its best defense of the season in this game. Duke will be motivated to get Coach K to another NCAA final and the team is shooting well from the field during March Madness. Duke is firing at 50 percent or higher in each of its tourney games from the field and that should concern North Carolina. The Tar Heels are 0-6 this season when they allow teams to shoot more than 51 percent from the field and 10-9 when opponents hit 44 percent of more. However, if North Carolina can limit Duke to below 44 percent from the field, the Tar Heels will most likely win as they are 18-0 when they defend at that limit. The bad news for North Carolina is only six teams have kept Duke below 44 percent shooting.

Expect Duke to shoot, shoot and then shoot some more in the hopes of playing the percentages in this game.

Pick: Duke to beat North Carolina
