At great Big 12 matchup will steal the focus on Monday in College Basketball as the Oklahoma Sooners visit the 8th ranked Kansas Jayhawks, at the Allen Fieldhouse at 9 PM ET.
Kansas has beaten every Big 12 team this season; their last victim was Texas on Saturday with an 85-54 result, helped by 21 points from freshman star Andrew Wiggins.
“We wanted to come out aggressive,” said Wiggins. “Last time we got embarrassed at their place. We wanted to do the same thing to them, win every minute of every possession.”
The Jayhawks are 15-12 against the spread overall and 10-6 at home; they have covered the spread in their last two games.
Oklahoma is 20-7 in the season and 15-10 against the spread; they have won three of their last four games, including an 86-73 victory over Kansas State on Saturday.
“It’s the nature of Big 12 play. All year long — we have played 14 now — and it seems like every time we have finished a game we are looking at another real good team a few days later,” Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said. “This time is a little quicker than that, and it’s against a really good team. Kansas, I think clearly is one of the best teams in the country. Allen Fieldhouse is a great place to play and a great atmosphere. Our guys have a ton of respect for Kansas, but athletes look forward to those types of challenges.”
Kansas has won nine of their last 10 meetings against Oklahoma, covering the spread in seven of those 10.Β The Jayhawks are 10.5 point favorites for Mondayβs matchup.
