Arguably the best game of the weekend features two ACC team clashing at the FedEx Forum, when the Memphis Tigers host the Louisville Cardinals, this Saturday at 2 PM ET, in a game broadcasted by CBS.
Louisville, ranked 7th in the nation, has won seven in a row, including a 22 point victory over the Temple Owls on Thursday night. The All-American guard Russ Smith shined with 24 points and four steals in the night.
“The ball is flowing great,” Smith said. “We’re pushing the ball, and that’s important. … Just being able to get out and put the pressure on the defense makes for a great team offensively.”
Memphis will be a nice challenge for the Cardinals because the Tigers already beat them on January 9. Memphis is 21-7 in the season, but they are coming off a 77-68 loss to the Houston Cougars last Saturday.
“Ultimately, I don’t think we played any defense,” Tigers Michael Dixon Jr, who scored 19 points said. “We were horrible on the defensive end as a team. That decided the game. They were hitting wide-open shots and made a lot of shots. They are a good shooting team. Totally different team at home than on the road and that decided the game.”
Memphis is 8-2-1 ATS in its last 11 games when playing Louisville; however, the Tigers are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games when playing at home against the Cardinals.
