Alabama is Easiest Bet Among All 2022 NCAA Football Futures
After going 13-2 last season, Alabama is primed for another dominant year now.
Pessimists will harp on how many players the Crimson Tide lost to the NFL Draft in 2022. Color us unconcerned.
Bryce Young, last year’s Heisman Trophy recipient, is returning for another season—and he just threw for nearly 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in 2021. When it comes down to brass tacks, Alabama still arguably has the best roster in college football…on both sides of the field. Eclipsing ten wins might even be their floor.
Georgia is Poised for Another 10-Plus-Win College Football Season
Though Georgia lost a lot of their high-octane defensive players to the NFL this past year, they’re still built to be a National Championship contender.
For starters, head coach Kirby Smart has always been a fantastic recruiter, and it shows with the Bulldogs’ incoming freshman class. Georgia has a number of first-year players who can make pressure plays and high-leverage reads on defense.
What’s more, this team feels primed for offensive improvement. They are more seasoned at nearly every position, and their bandwidth for completing big-yardage plays through the air should increase when looking at their current receiving core.
Cincinnati is Offering Great Value on 2022 NCAA Football Futures
Go ahead and pounce on Cincinnati while they’re laying almost even money.
There is no logical explanation for why the Bearcats are providing this much value. Most of last year’s core is coming back, and that 2021 Cincinnati team went 13-1 while winning games by an average of almost three touchdowns—good enough for a total point differential of plus-280.
Granted, the American Athletic Conference is slightly more harrowing this year. But it hasn’t improved enough to ticket the Bearcats for fewer than 11 victories.
Clemson is a Safer Futures Bet Than Most
Clemson’s odds shouldn’t skew below -1000, which makes picking them to win 10-plus games at -600 a big-time bargain.
Linemakers (and bettors) are seemingly overreacting to how last season ended. Yes, Clemson failed to win the ACC title for the first time in six years. But the situation is hardly dire. The Tigers are noticeably deeper on the offensive side of the ball, where they struggled to convert red zone opportunities into touchdowns last year.
In fact, we think Clemson should be good for 12 victories this season, making them a no-brainer play for us.
Roll the Dice on Oklahoma to Win More Than 10 Games
Getting in on Oklahoma at +125 is a gosh darn gift as far as we’re concerned.
Bettors are clearly hedging against the risk that comes with playing in a conference also featuring Baylor and Oklahoma State. But Oklahoma won 11 games last year while going a perfect 7-0 at home and a quality 7-2 in the conference.
Oh, and unlike last year, Oklahoma isn’t projected to trail Oklahoma State and Baylor in the standings. Most college football polls have them as a top-seven team in the nation. We’d be remiss if we didn’t add them to our 2022 NCAA Football Futures list of must-bets.
2022 NCAA Football Futures: The Ultimate Parlay
Since so many of our 2022 college football predictions are currently low-risk, we’ve decided to parlay them all! Here’s what the bet slip should look like:
- Alabama to win 10-plus games (-3500)
- Georgian to win 10-plus games (-2200)
- Cincinnati to win 10-plus games (-135)
- Clemson to win 10-plus games (-600)
- Oklahoma to win 10-plus games (+125)
At present, this parlay pays out nearly 5-to-1. For every $100 you wager, you’d be looking at a return of $491.38—nearly $400 in total profit.
That sounds great to us. How about you?
