Three weeks into the new college football season, it has been made clear that the Hurricanes of Miami football are going to be a team to follow. Cameron Ward was the starting quarterback for the team last season, but he’s now off to the NFL. Carson Beck has taken over and he’s looking great. So much in fact, Carson Beck is now the Heisman favorite after Miami’s 3-0 start.

The Miami Hurricanes opened the year with a strong win against Notre Dame at home. They’ve won back-to-back games since then, including last weekend against the University of South Florida and Alex Golesh. In the Week 3 win, Beck was tremendous, which now has him as the leader in terms of the college football betting odds to win the Heisman. Will he end up winning it this winter?

Carson Beck now holds +700 odds to win the Heisman Trophy this season
At this point last week, Beck was second in terms of the odds to win the Heisman via the top college football betting sites. He was behind quarterback John Mateer, who is the quarterback for the Sooners of Oklahoma. Mateer has also been tremendous, which included him recording superb statistics in a win against the University of Michigan. However, Beck has been superior, with better sports betting odds.
This weekend, Beck is going to have a great opportunity to prove that he’s Heisman worthy. Miami football is going to take on Florida and the game is going to be featured on College GameDay. This is going to be a primetime game too, which will result in a lot of people watching this one from all over the world. Will Beck look strong against the Gators of Florida?
“They’ve got a lot of talent on that defense,” Beck said about Florida’s team. “So it’s gonna be a challenge for us, but it’s something that, you know, we’re gonna prepare, we’re gonna work through the week, you know, we came in, we worked yesterday, we came in today – had a really tough physical practice today on a Tuesday. So we’re just gonna continue to prepare throughout the week.”
Previously, Beck was a superstar for the Bulldogs of Georgia, but the expectation was that he was going to enter the NFL Draft last spring. Instead, he surprised a ton of people by entering the transfer portal instead and then signing to play for Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson.
Beck has hopes of winning the National Championship this year, but it would be an honor for him too if he’s able to join the Heisman Trophy family. The University of Miami is a perfect 3-0 on the season and they are a heavy favorite to beat Florida on Saturday night too. With a win, it will improve Carson Beck’s odds to eventually win the Heisman this year. Fans will love it if that success arrives for him.
