The number one team in the country, the Florida Gators, looks to stay in the winning path to the NCAA Basketball Championship as they take on the UConn Huskies in the Final Four, this Saturday at 6:09 PM ET at the AT&T Stadium, in Arlington, Texas.
The last team to beat Florida was the Huskies, but it was on December 2nd; since then no team has been a challenge for them.
“They are high right now. They are playing great basketball. They are sharing the basketball. They are all playing hard. They haven’t lost since then. It will be really tough,” Huskies forward DeAndre Daniels said Friday. “We feel great. … I feel like nobody is playing harder than us right now. We are just out there having fun and not playing for ourselves, but playing for each other.
UConn shouldn’t be at this stage in the tournament; they are the Cinderella team this season and they have made it with great defensive efforts.
“These guys understand what goes into playing and competing, they’re really good as it relates to scouting report and preparation,” Florida coach Billy Donovan said of the Huskies. “I think they understand how hard they have to play, how well they have to play defensively together, offensively together.”
The Gators are 6.5 point favorites for this matchup. The Gators are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games, and 20-9 ATS in their last 29 NCAA Tournament games. The Huskies are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 NCAA Tournament games.
