The Kentucky Wildcats are favorites to advance in the March Madness odds over the Kansas State Wildcats. The game is this Friday at 9:40 PM ET at Scottrade Center, in St. Louis.
Kentucky won three of the last five games but lost to the Florida Gators 61-60 in the SEC title game. They find their next rival overly physical.
“I watched some tape, and I’ll tell you what, they’re a veteran, physical, great defensively, motion offense, really different kinds of motion. They try to beat you on the dribble, and they’re physical. A lot like the teams – LSU, Georgia and Florida – like the teams we just played. We had to give our kids a day off today after the week we went through Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to get ready for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, the wars we played in. But it seems like they’re in a great frame of mind right now”, Kentucky coach John Calipari said.
Kansas State has lost the last three games in a row, failing to cover the spread in all three. They failed to beat Big 12 champions Iowa State in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
“I guess it was an entertaining game,” Wildcats coach Bruce Weber said. “You shoot 54 percent and scored 85 points, and you still don’t win, it’s disappointing.”
Kentucky is a 6 point favorite for this matchup against Kansas State. The last time these two programs met was in 2008 as Kentucky won 74-72 as a 2 point spread favorites in the NCAA betting odds.
