Alabama vs Georgia
Georgia opened as a 3-point favorite over Alabama despite a long history of losing to their SEC rivals. The Crimson Tide have won seven straight against the Bulldogs, including a 26-23 overtime thriller in the 2018 CFP title game, and a 41-24 victory in the SEC Championship Game just four weeks ago.
Looking to win its first national championship since the 1980 season, Kirby Smart’s club has the nation’s No. 1 scoring defense. After entering the semifinals allowing only 9.5 points per game, the Bulldogs forced three turnovers in a 34-11 triumph over Michigan in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
Nick Saban says Alabama will probably be underdogs in the #CFBPlayoff title game.

Alabama was equally impressive in a 27-6 Cotton Bowl triumph over the Cincinnati Bearcats, with Brian Robinson Jr. piling up 204 yards on the ground and Heisman winner Bryce Young tossing three scores.
Nick Saban will now have the chance to win back-to-back titles for the second time with the Crimson Tide (2011 and 2012) and add an eighth National Championship to his already record haul.
National Championship Best Bets
Alabama to win outright (+120). Bulldogs’ coach Kirby Smart is 0-4 against his former boss Nick Saban, including a 41-24 loss in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 4 where the Crimson Tide rolled up 41 points and 536 yards against Georgia’s ballyhooed defense.
Stetson Bennett IV threw two costly interceptions in the loss and will have to play flawlessly on Monday to outduel Young, who threw for 421 yards and three touchdowns in their first meeting. With the better coach and quarterback, it’s difficult to bet against an Alabama team poised to claim their second straight title and seventh in 13 years.

Take the OVER on 52.5 points. Georgia turned in one of the most dominant regular seasons of modern college football history, going 12-0 while giving up just 10 touchdowns to opposing offenses and allowing no more than 17 total points to an opponent in any game. Then again, these two schools put up a combined 65 points in their last meeting.
Eight of the past nine National Championship have also exceeded the 52.5 point total. While Alabama’s 26-23 victory over Georgia in 2017 was the sole exception, there’s no reason to believe a low-scoring slugfest will play out in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Final Score Prediction: Alabama 33, Georgia 24.
