Louisville and Syracuse will be in charge of giving an early basketball show as they face each other, this Saturday at the Carrier Dome at 12 PM ET.
The Orange needs to find the way to fight back having lost their last two games in a row.Β Their most recent defeat was a three point thriller at Marquette.
“We scored enough points tonight, I just think our defense wasn’t good enough, especially our rebounding,” coach Jim Boeheim said. “You ought to know by now that if you start to ask me those questions, I’ll just laugh at you,” he said. “That’s all I’ll do. Go get your Pulitzer someplace else”, added angry with the question after the loss.
Louisville, on the other hand, has won four games in a row, but to be fair they havenβt played any good teams since February 9th.Β Their last win came against Depaul in a 21 point victory.
“When Russ Smith passes the basketball, we have a big-time chance of being a great team,” coach Rick Pitino said. “When he doesn’t, and he gambles on defense, we’re just a mediocre team. But if we can get him to totally buy in offensively and defensively, we have the makings of a great team, and he did that in the second half.”
Syracuse has covered their last two meetings against Louisville, but the Cardinals had covered the previous seven. Louisville has won seven of the last 10 games in the series. Expect a close one.
