After shocking the Georgia Bulldogs last week, the Missouri Tigers look to stay undefeated when they host the Florida Gators in a SEC College Football week 8 clash, this Saturday at 12:21 PM ET at Faurot Field.
The last time Missouri started 7-0 was back in 2010; that was the only time they did it since 1960.
The Tigers will try to stay unbeaten without their quarterback, James Franklin, under center, after he suffered a shoulder injury last week.
Freshman QB Maty Mauk is in charge now.
“(I’ve told him) just to trust your preparation, that you have good people around you and to just go play,” coach Gary Pinkel said. “In high school, he was the guy that played at the really high level for a lot of people and had lots of success.
The Gators have dropped games against Miami (FL) and LSU last week, where they lost 17-6.
“To have this setback is disheartening for all of us,” coach Will Muschamp said. “We’ll get the next guy up. We’ve recruited well at the position, so those guys will get their opportunity and they need to be ready to go in all situations.”
Florida has never visited Missouri; Saturday will be the first time. The Tigers are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games at home. The Gators are 6-3 SU in their last 9 games on the road, but 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games.
The NCAAF odds have Florida as the favorite by 3 points.
