On Saturday night, college football fanatics were left stunned when the Buckeyes of Ohio State suffered a loss to the Hoosiers of Indiana. The Big Ten Trophy was on the line, but the Hoosiers and Fernando Mendoza were the ones to post a win. Despite that, Ohio State remains the national title favorite despite the loss to Indiana. This has caught people by surprise.
Mendoza and Indiana were able to get the job done. Now, the Hoosiers are ready to push for a National Championship and they are the No. 1 seed for the College Football Playoffs. Because of this, the Hoosiers won’t play next week in the first round. They will have to wait to find out who they will play in the quarterfinals, but Mendoza and others are still celebrating the win over Ohio State.
“It sounds so beautiful,” Mendoza said right after the win. “I want to give all the glory to God. We were never supposed to be in this position, but by the glory of God, the great coaches, great teammates, and everybody we have around us, we were able to pull this off. Who ever thought the Hoosiers would be here? But now the Hoosiers are flipping champs. Let’s go!”

Ohio State holds the best CFP odds to win the National Championship
Despite the loss, the Buckeyes of Ohio State and Ryan Day are still confident they can repeat as the national champs. The loss to Indiana was a setback, but if anything, it could prove to be major motivation for this team to bounce back. Ryan Day, Julian Sayin, Jeremiah Smith and others were upset after the loss, but it’s back to work for them to prepare for the CFP.

Indiana fans might feel a bit disrespected by not having the top odds, but this isn’t the first time the Hoosiers are being looked at as a bit of the underdogs.
