Sugar Bowl Odds – Oklahoma vs Alabama

AJ’ McCarron’s last game as a Crimson Tide quarterback will come this Thursday Night as Alabama face the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at 8:30 PM ET.

aj_mccarrron_alabama“I think AJ McCarron is the best player in the country, I really do,” Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Dec. 8. “If I had a vote, that’s who I’d vote for. On and on, just fundamental, sound, great players, force great schemes. … I appreciate good football, and (the Crimson Tide) play it, and they play it the right way.”

McCarron is 42-1 when Alabama’s rushing attack registers at least 125 yards; the key for Oklahoma will be taking running back T.J. Yeldon out of the game.

For Oklahoma it will be a test; it will be a measuring stick for the entire program.

“How could it not be?” Stoops added said. “They’re a team that, quite frankly, people should still talk about as the best team in the country. They were for the last three years up to the last play in the regular season. What an unusual play that was.”

Oklahoma has won both meetings against Alabama in the past, but both times the Crimson Tide covered the spread.  Of course, the last time they met was back on 2003; keep in mind, the Sooners are 0-7 ATS against SEC opponents since 1992.

The College Football odds have Alabama as a 16.5 point favorite over Oklahoma; the game total is at 51.5 points.
