Two Mountain West rivals clash on Wednesday night as the UNLV Rebels visit Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl to face the San Diego State Aztecs, at 10 PM ET in what could easily be the best game of the night.
The Rebels are 14-3, and the Aztecs are 14-2; both will savor a win against a hated opponent.
San Diego State standout Jamaal Franklin has been playing injured, but he has been tremendous over the last few games. “It shows you how everybody cares for one another, and everybody just wants to win, for you to risk your body and your health just to go out and play for your teammates,” said Franklin.
The Rebels have lots of reason to be proud also as they bounce back against Air Force after losing to New Mexico the game before. “I’m very confident we’ll throw it into those guys, and they’ll get fouled and they’ll make (the free throws) the next time around,” coach Dave Rice said.
“Both those teams are undefeated at home, obviously 100 percent of our focus on San Diego State then we’ll worry about Colorado State after that,” Rice said about their next challenges.
San Diego State has won 8 of the last 10 meetings and has covered the spread in nine of those matchups. The last time the Rebels won against the Aztecs was back in 2010.
Also, keep in mind six of the last seven games between these two went UNDER the game total.
