One of the most intriguing March Madness Sweet Sixteen games features the Baylor Bears taking on the Wisconsin Badgers this Thursday, at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California at 7:47 PM ET.
Baylor enters this game with eight wins over the last nine games, only losing to Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship final. They beat Nebraska and smashed Creighton 85-55 in the first two rounds of the NCAA Men’s tournament.
“We take pride in people hating on us, and we love proving people wrong,” Baylor sophomore center Isaiah Austin said. “Everybody has bought into the one goal that we have in mind and that is winning a national championship.”
Wisconsin has won 11 of the last 13 games; they passed over the American University Eagles, and the Oregon Ducks to get to the Sweet Sixteen.
“To be able to handle that smack in the face in the first half and come back and deliver one of our own says a lot about this group,” Wisconsin Bo Ryan said of his team coming from a 12 point deficit.
“It’s tournament time and no one wants to go home,” Badgers Frank Kaminsky who scored 19 points against Baylor said. “You’re doing whatever you can to stay in. If that means being physical down low with anyone — it’s a battle.”
Wisconsin is a 3.5 point favorite in the March Madness odds. The Bears are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games, and the Badgers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 NCAA Tournament games as a favorite.
