- The San Francisco 49ers (7-4) are 3-point favorites over the Miami Dolphins (8-3)
- Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 11 touchdowns during the Fins’ five-game winning streak
- The Week 13 game on Fox will kick off from Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, December 4 at 4:05pm ET
In the midst of a five-game winning streak, Miami currently leads the AFC East. But winning its first division title since 2008 won’t be easy. The Dolphins have one of the league’s hardest remaining schedules with contests against the 49ers, Chargers, Bills, Dolphins, Patriots and Jets.
Meanwhile, with four wins in a row, San Francisco is well-positioned to win the NFC West for the first time since 2019.
Before we check all the odds on one of the best matchups of Week 13, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2022.

Mentor vs Protégé
Sunday’s matchup pits Niners coach Kyle Shanahan against former protégé Mike McDaniel. A +550 contender for NFL Coach of the Year, McDaniel still hasn’t lost a game in which Tua Tagovailoa started and stayed healthy. The Dolphins are putting up the sixth-most points per game (25.6) in the league, however, they’ve scored 30+ points in their past four contests. In those wins, Tua has averaged 317 passing yards with 10 TDs combined.
The third-year quarterback may suffer a shock to his system in Week 13. While he’s feasted on questionable competition of late (Lions, Bears, Browns, Texans), San Francisco’s defense is permitting the fewest points per game (15.7) in the NFL. They also haven’t allowed a second-half score since Week 7.
The Miami #Dolphins have an MVP candidate in Tua Tagovailoa and one of the league's best offenses.

Two of the NFL’s hottest teams collide
Both the Dolphins and Niners have been unbeatable of late. In Week 12, Miami took a 30-0 halftime lead versus Houston before pulling Tua Tagovailoa midway through the third quarter. San Francisco was just as impressive, blanking the Saints 13-0 to earn their first shutout since 2019.
While the clubs have won a combined nine games in a row, all the W’s have come against teams that are currently not in the playoffs. It’s why Sunday’s matchup will go a long way in telling us which of these Super Bowl contenders is for real.
49ers vs Dolphins
San Francisco is a 3-point home favorite at Levi’s Stadium and the game has a 46.5-point over/under. The 49ers have only suffered one loss in Santa Clara all season, a 44-23 defeat to the Chiefs in Week 7. Since that time, the team traded for Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell returned from injury and DeMeco Ryans’ defense has returned to health.
Third in the NFL with 11.5 sacks, Nick Bosa could feast on Sunday with Miami’s star left tackle Terron Armstead expected to miss the game with a pectoral injury. Before Tagovailoa headed to the showers last week, the Texans sacked him four times in nine plays following Armstead’s exit.

Best Bet
Already third in the NFL MVP race at +550, Tua Tagovailoa could become a genuine contender with another strong performance. However, it will be tough to move the ball against the league’s best defense, even if McDaniel has saved some plays for his old friend.
The Dolphins also have a middling defense that Jimmy Garoppolo should be able to exploit with the NFL’s best collection of offensive weapons. We like San Fran and the UNDER.
Final Score Prediction: San Francisco 24, Miami 19
