Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama has won six national championships since 2009 and has played in six of the last seven championship games, so it’s no surprise to see them at the top of the list to win in 2022-23.
Head Coach, Nick Saban welcomes back the core of the team that lost to Georgia in January, including outstanding defensemen Will Anderson and Dallas Turner, who combined for 26 sacks and 41 tackles for losses last year. The team also has reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young back as quarterback.
Alabama’s 2022 season started out with a bang as the team defeated Utah State 55-0 on the strength of Young’s five touchdown passes.
Georgia Bulldogs
The defending National Champion Georgia Bulldogs have a chance to repeat their undefeated conference record from last year — and could go unbeaten overall — thanks to a favorable schedule and the fact they are an exceptional football team.
Last year marked Georgia’s first national title win in 41 years.
Georgia was all about defense last year and while the team looks a little different in that area in 2022, five Bulldogs went in the first round of the NFL Draft, the school did a good job of replacing the departing players via recruitment.
The new look defense did not disappoint, allowing No. 11 ranked Oregon to put up just three points in Week 1 play. Georgia won that game 49-3.
Ohio State Buckeyes
The Ohio State Buckeyes missed the College Football Playoffs in 2021-22, but they are a team to keep an eye on this year. The Buckeyes brought back most of their best players for this season, including potential Heisman Trophy challenger C.J. Stroud at quarterback. They also have Jaxon Smith-Njigba back. Ohio State also did a great job in recruiting for the 2022-23 NCAAF season.
Ohio State defeated Notre Dame 21-10 in Week 1, but the team was down 10-7 at the half to the Fighting Irish, which was not expected since Ohio State was a 17-point favorite.
Our pick
Alabama will be motivated this season and that, along with the enormous amount of talent the team has, will get them back to the National Championship in 2023.
Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide to win the 2023 NCAAF National Championship in 2023.
