- The Buffalo Bills (9-3) are 9-point home favorites over the New York Jets (7-5)
- Garrett Wilson is making a late charge at Offensive Rookie of the Year with Mike White at the controls
- The Week 14 game on CBS will kick off from Orchard Park, NY on Sunday, December 11 at 1:00pm ET
With the Chiefs’ loss in Week 13, Buffalo now sits in first place in the AFC, but holding on to their first-round bye won’t be easy. Kansas City only has one matchup against a potential playoff team (Seahawks, Wk 16) while the Bills have games left against the Jets, Dolphins, Bengals and Patriots.
Meanwhile, at 7-5, Robert Saleh’s club is holding on to the final Wild Card spot in the AFC. Before we check the odds on this critical divisional matchup, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2022.

Buffalo back on top
When these teams last met in Week 9, Josh Allen injured his throwing elbow in the final minutes of a 20-17 loss. The Bills quarterback suited up the next week versus the Vikings, but coughed the ball up three times in a 33-30 overtime defeat. With Allen banged up and leading the league in turnovers (15), all of a sudden things weren’t looking so hot for the preseason Super Bowl favorites.
However, after weathering the storm with tight wins over the Browns and Lions, Buffalo blasted the Patriots 24-10 last Thursday night. Sitting at 9-3 after three straight W’s, Sean McDermott’s club now controls its own fate in the hunt for the sole playoff bye in AFC.

The Mike White era
After throwing for 315 yards and three scores against the Bears in Week 13, Mike White couldn’t get in the end zone versus the Vikings despite numerous trips to the red zone. Zach Wilson’s replacement still finished with 369 passing yards, but his two interceptions (including one in the final minute) proved costly in the 27-22 loss.
One bright spot was the play of Garrett Wilson (eight receptions, 162 yards), who at +250 is making a late push for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Bills vs Jets
Buffalo is a 9-point home favorite in Orchard Park, NY. Allen made plays with his legs (86 rushing yards, 2 TDs) in the Week 9 matchup in New York. However, Robert Saleh’s defense picked him off twice while holding him to to just 205 passing yards and no TDs.
Keep in mind, the Jets were also playing with one hand tied behind their back in that one, as Wilson drew the start. With improved QB play from Mike White and the emergence of Zonovan “Bam” White in the backfield, they have a better chance of generating offense in Week 14.

Best Bet
Sean McDermott’s defense is allowing the fourth-fewest points per game (17.4) in the NFL. That’s just two spots ahead of the Jets D, which is permitting only 18.6 points per game. It’s why oddsmakers have given the game a low over/under of 43.5.
Nine points is a lot cover in a game that projects as a low-scoring slugfest. Especially if the weather in upstate New York takes an ugly turn over the next few days. Take the Jets to cover with the UNDER, but expect Buffalo to come out on top.
Final Score Prediction: Buffalo 23, Jets 16
