Bet on 49ers to Win, Barely: NFL Monday Night Football Week 11 Picks

  • The San Francisco 49ers (5-4) are 8-point favorites over the Arizona Cardinals (4-6) in Week 11
  • Kliff Kingsbury has won three of the past four meetings with Kyle Shanahan, including a season-series sweep in 2021
  • Monday Night Football on ESPN kicks off from Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on November 21 at 8:15pm ET

Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy both practiced on Thursday and coach Kliff Kingsbury said he hopes to have at least one of his injured quarterbacks available on Monday night. The question is which one would give the Cardinals the better chance to defeat the 49ers in Mexico City?

McCoy led Arizona to a 27-17 victory over the Rams in Week 10. And Murray has lost four of his past five starts while leading a discombobulated offense. Before we check the odds on this NFC West rivalry game, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2022.

49ers aim for 3rd straight win

Kyle Shanahan never fails to surprise. Just a few weeks after selling the farm for Christian McCaffrey, the Niners coach gave sophomore running back Elijah Mitchell a game-high 18 carries for 89 yards in Week 10. It was quite the shock for CMC’s fantasy owners, who just watched their star asset throw, run and catch a touchdown the previous week.

Either way, wins are what matter to the 49ers, who sit a game behind the idle Seahawks for the NFC Division lead. To claim their third-straight victory, San Francisco will have to accomplish something they couldn’t last year. Beating the Cardinals. who swept the season series in 2021 and have captured three of the past four against their division rivals.

Cardinals need a W

Colt McCoy completed 26 of 37 passes for 238 yards and a TD in a Week 10 victory over the Rams. It wasn’t a spectacular showing by any means, but Arizona’s offense looked crisper and more organized minus Kyler Murray. If the Cardinals diminutive starter can recover from a hamstring injury by Monday, he’ll be in tough against a Niners’ defense allowing a league-best 280.6 yards per game.

Nick Bosa and company held the Chargers to 52 yards of offense in the second half to secure a 22-16 win over the Chargers last Sunday. The star defensive end is currently tied for second in the NFL with 9.5 sacks.

Cardinals vs. 49ers

San Francisco is an 8-point favorite on Monday night, and the over/under is set at just 43.5 total points. Somewhat surprisingly, Arizona has the best road record in football since 2021 (11-3, .786 win %). However, while the game will be played from Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, it’s technically a home game for the Cardinals. So, who knows if their dominance away from home continues.

Vance Joseph’s defense is giving up the third-most points per game (25.8) in the NFL and is a bottom-10 unit against the pass. The Cards top-ten rushing defense could be a saving grace against the run-heavy Niners. However, with the emerging Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle at his disposal Jimmy Garoppolo will be able to move the ball through the air.

Best Bet

Given Kliff Kingsbury’s recent string of success against Kyle Shanahan, eight points seems like a lot. While we like San Francisco to capture their third-straight victory on Monday night, we think the Cardinals cover in Mexico City.

Final Score Prediction: San Francisco 27, Cardinals 21
