In the National Football League, fanatics were just treated to a splendid performance between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants. This game went into overtime, but the home team was able to win 40-37. Brandon Aubrey was the hero for the Cowboys, but that wasn’t the only big news of the day. Not long after the game ended, the Cowboys signed Jadeveon Clowney after the insane win over the Giants.

| Eagles to win | +175 | +175 | +175 |

This was one of the best games of the 2025 season for NFL fans and Dallas was able to make big plays with things on the line. It looked like New York was going to win after a touchdown for Russell Wilson to Malik Nabers, but Brandon Aubrey hit a 64-yard field goal to force overtime. Then, he won things in OT. To make the day better, Jerry Jones signed Clowney to a new contract.

Dallas signing Jadeveon Clowney to a new deal will help the defense
It’s clear… Dallas signing Jadeveon Clowney to a new deal will help the defense for the long haul. The Dallas defense hasn’t been explosive up front, as the loss of Micah Parsons has been a big blow thus far through the first two games of the year. Parsons and the Cowboys couldn’t come to terms on an extension. He was traded to the Packers of Green Bay.
With the defense of Dallas not being able to generate much of a pass rush, it makes sense that Jerry Jones has gone out and gotten things done with Clowney. He’s been a Pro Bowler several times throughout his career and he’s also a former No. 1 pick. Now that Clowney will be with Dallas, will the pass rush improve?
That’s what Dallas fans are pushing for. Dallas is hoping to not only get back to the playoffs this year, but also go on a deep run. The Cowboys would love to win the NFC East this year, but the Eagles remain the heavy favorites to win the division. According to the best sports betting sites, the Eagles hold +175 NFL football odds to win the NFC East this year. Dallas, per the NFL betting sites, is placed at +450.
Dallas hasn’t lived up to expectations in recent years, with plenty of local fans not excited about the play on offense and defense. On offense, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are the leaders. Defensively, injuries have hurt the Cowboys, but the loss of Parsons via the trade is something that people still can’t get over.
Clowney alone isn’t going to fix the issues that Dallas has had, but he is a veteran of the game and he knows how to help a defense that’s struggling. Jerry Jones is excited about his ability to make a difference and he certainly has what it takes to be a key figure for the Dallas Cowboys for the rest of the season.
