Week 15’s Monday Night Football game saw the Minnesota Vikings keep their playoff hopes alive with a win over the Chicago Bears. Week 16 sees the Miami Dolphins travel to the Big Easy to face the New Orleans Saints.
Had you said the Dolphins were a playoff team in Week 8, you would have been laughed at. Miami was 1-7 at the time. Today they are 7-7 and riding a six-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Saints seemed to have corrected a listing ship. The Saints are on a two-game winning streak following five straight losses.

Neither of these teams will lock up a playoff spot during the Week 16 Monday Night Football game, but the loser of the matchup between the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints, who are both 7-7 could drop out of the playoff race.
One of the keys to Miami’s success during the team’s winning streak has been the play of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa has a completion rating of 74.4 percent during the team’s winning streak and his season rate of 69.9 percent is the best in the league. That’s bad news for a New Orleans defense which is near the bottom half of the NFL in passing defense. Watch for the Saints to have success on the ground. New Orleans has run the ball on more than 47 percent of their plays this season and the Dolphins have given up 4.3 yards per carry. I think the Saints success on the ground will allow them to eat up the field and the clock.

Pick the under. New Orleans will be able to eat up the clock with its running game. If you couple that with the fact that the defense should be able to keep Tagovailoa from having much success in the air, this will not be a high-scoring affair.
