Eagles to clobber Cowboys in Sunday’s NFC East rivalry matchup

  • Philadelphia (6-2) is a 7-point road favorite over the Cowboys (3-5) in Week 10
  • Eagles running back Saquon Barkley leads the NFL with 133.9 scrimmage yards per game
  • The NFC East battle will kick off from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX at 4:25 pm ET

Dak Prescott is expected to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury he suffered in Dallas’ 27-21 defeat to Atlanta. Losers of three-straight, the Cowboys now have to trot out backup QB Cooper Rush against the divisional-rival Eagles. With Saquon Barkley running hot, Philadelphia is looking to win its fifth game in a row on Sunday.

Dallas hits rock bottom

With Dak Prescott on the sidelines for the foreseeable future, it’s difficult to see Dallas climbing back into the playoff picture. While Cooper Rush had 4-1 record when Prescott was sidelined with a broken thumb in 2022, the Cowboys’ run game was much stronger back then. America’s team is currently 31st in the NFL in rushing yards per game (82.0) and Ezekiel Elliott was just benched for disciplinary reasons.

To have any hope against the Eagles in Week 10, Mike McCarthy must hope CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) and Micah Parsons (Lisfranc) can suit up against their division rivals.

Eagles soaring high

Saquon Barkley’s backward leap over a defender in the Eagles’ 28-23 victory over Jacksonville was one of the highlights of the season. The 27-year-old finished the game with 199 total yards and two touchdowns. In his first year in the City of Brotherly Love, Barkley leads the NFL with 133.9 scrimmage yards per contest and has already compiled five 100+ rushing yard performances in 2024.

A.J. Brown exited Sunday’s win over the Jags with a knee injury. While he’s not expected to miss a significant time, he likely won’t suit up in Week 10 against a very beatable Cowboys team.

Dallas vs Philadelphia

Dallas is a 7-point home underdog in AT&T Stadium with the over/under set at a lowly 42 points. Only the Carolina Panthers (32.6) are allowing more points per game than Mike Zimmer’s Cowboys defense (28.1).

However, Vic Fangio should have a field day against Cooper Rush. The Eagles rank top-ten in scoring defense (19.4 PPG), top-five in rushing defense (101.1 YPG) and seventh in passing defense (189 YPG).

Best Bet

Jalen Hurts has a 3-3 record against the Cowboys, but divisional matchups don’t get any easier than this one. With Dallas decimated by injuries on both sides of the ball, expect the Eagles to cover (-7) easily with the OVER 42.
