The NFC East division is up for grabs as all four teams have a real shot of winning it, but wideout Pierre Garcon thinks his team, the Washington Redskins, will be unstoppable and will win the division for the second year in a row.
“We have the potential to be the best offense ever, really,” Garcon told reporters Thursday. “We can be the top offense in the league. We have a lot of great players at every position. We have a great offensive line, great tight ends, great receivers, running backs and quarterback.”
In the Super Bowl era, the most prolific offense was the 2007 Patriots, scoring 36.8 points per game.Β The Skins were the fourth best offense in the NFL in 2012 averaging 27.3 points every Sunday.
“It definitely helps having a lot of weapons out there on offense,” Garcon said. “With Fred back, he’s like another receiver and he does a great job blocking — does a great job of whenever he gets the ball, being able to score from anywhere on the field.”
The question mark is how healthy will RGIII be for the start of the season, and how will he handle the ACL injury.
βHe throws the ball, and I just go get it wherever he puts it,” Garcon said. “We continue to be on the same page. We understand the playbook a little better now. Our chemistry will be better than ever. Whenever Robert gets back out there, whenever he can throw with the team, we’re going to continue to grow.”
The Redskins are second in the odds to win the NFC East, just behind the NY Giants.Β Washington is listed 12/5 to win it all.
