Things have not gone to plan this season for the Dolphins of Miami. The National Football League team in the AFC East had eyes on potentially getting to the Super Bowl, but with the NFL Trade deadline coming soon, it looks like they’re going to be sellers instead of buyers. So, with that being the case, the Jaylen Waddle trade rumors keep coming in for the Dolphins and Giants.
Will the Giants get on the phone and reach out to the Dolphins to get something done? For the Giants, their season was turned upside down when superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers tore his ACL. Nabers was a first-round pick last season and he has quickly looked like one of the best WRs in the game. With him out for the season, it’d make sense for the Giants of New York to try and get something done.
The Giants traded a 2nd and a 5th round pick for Brian Burns last offseason. Look at what he has blossomed into in his new environment. Look at the impact of that trade.
If you think trading for Jaylen Waddle could have a similar impact on your offense, you trade a 2nd for him. pic.twitter.com/6s81J9yisZ

Jaylen Waddle could get traded by the Dolphins before the deadline
Waddle was a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was a spectacular player for Nick Saban and the University of Alabama before making the jump to the NFL. It wasn’t long ago that both he and Tyreek Hill were great receivers for Tua Tagovailoa, forming arguably the best WR combo in the National Football League. They had Miami with decent NFL betting odds to win the division before Week 1.
However, Hill suffered a serious knee injury earlier this season and it’s totally unknown if he’ll be able to get back on the field next year. With Miami getting ready to potentially move on from Tagovailoa too, it wouldn’t be a surprise if GM Chris Grier decides to trade Waddle and get some draft picks in return.
A second-round pick and a fifth-round pick might be more than enough for the Giants to get things done. Waddle is a reliable wide receiver and he’s got a ton of experience. The Giants need receiver help with Nabers hurt, especially with Jaxson Dart in his rookie season.
Head coach Brian Daboll is going all-in on the Ole Miss quarterback and the Giants need to provide him with some help. Dart has looked great early on while leading the offense, but there isn’t too much depth at WR for this team. This is something that Daboll knows and the same can be said for general manager Joe Schoen.
Both Daboll and Schoen are facing a lot of pressure to get the Giants back to where they need to be. It’s been a rough couple of years for the Giants and fans are losing patience. Adding a player of Waddle’s caliber could help turn the season around. It will be interesting to see if this happens or not between the Giants and Dolphins.
