- BetOnline has the Packers as 12-point home favorites against the Lions on Monday Night Football
- Green Bay is 8-0 against-the-spread after a loss in their last 8 games
- Detroit is 7-1 ATS against the Packers in their last 8 games and the team played hard under new head coach Dan Campbell in Week 1
Talk about a soft landing spot for Aaron Rodgers. After authoring one of the worst performances of his Hall of Fame career in a 38-3 loss to the Saints, the 37-year-old diva QB will welcome the Lions to Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football.
Expected to be one of the worst teams in all of football this season, Detroit was feisty under knee-biter Dan Campbell in a 41-33 Week 1 loss to the 49ers, falling just short in their comeback bid.
Can the Lions shock the Packers in Week 2 or will Green Bay get back on a Super Bowl trajectory? Before we look at the odds for Monday Night Football and make our picks, check out our free tips and advice for betting on NFL football games.

Packers vs Lions
Rodgers is 17-5 all-time against his divisional rivals in Detroit with 5,662 passing yards, 46 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. The question is whether No. 12 is dialed in after an offseason of tedious melodrama and beach vacations with fiancé Shailene Woodley.
The Packers signal-caller looked uncharacteristically indecisive and inaccurate vs. New Orleans, throwing two interceptions (one of which he since blamed on taking “a double nut shot”) in the 38-3 bloodbath. But this looks like a “get right” spot as the Lions have a weak pass rush and secondary.
Aaron Rodgers stats following a loss LAST SEASON👀
• 4 TD, 0 INT, 283 yards, 132.4 rating
• 4 TD, 0 INT, 305 yards, 147.2 rating
• 4 TD, 0 INT, 211 yards, 132.3 rating pic.twitter.com/mwAeEJ8xOL— IKE Packers Podcast (@IKE_Packers) September 16, 2021
Detroit dug themselves a deep hole against San Francisco, falling behind 38-10 at one point in the third quarter. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for over 300 yards and rookie Eli Mitchell ran for over 100 yards on the ground.
Matt LaFleur essentially runs the same offense as his ex-boss Kyle Shanahan and the Niners, so Davante Adams, Aaron Jones, and the whole Packers’ offense should get back on track in this one.
MNF Best Bets
Bet the OVER on 48.5 points. The Over is 8-3 in the last 11 Lions games. A symptom of Detroit allowing 30-plus points in 11 of their past 17 games. While the Packers put up a league-low 229 yards in Week 1, Rodgers will be much sharper in the friendly confines of Lambeau on Monday night. The Lions’ run-friendly scheme also lines up well against a Green Bay club that permitted 171 yards on the ground to New Orleans.
Green Bay to cover the 12-point spread. The Packers are 8-0 against-the-spread after a loss in their last 8 games, but only 1-7 ATS against the Lions in their last 8 games. If Detroit falls behind early as they did last week, a comeback will be harder to execute against a motivated GB team that was embarrassed last week.
Final Score Prediction: Green Bay 34, Lions 17.
