The Cincinnati Bengals need a win to turn around their latest losing streak as they face the Denver Broncos, this Sunday at 1 PM ET at Paul Brown stadium.
The Bengals have dropped 3 straight and need a victory if they want to think playoffs in the long run. Cincy is coming off a bye week, but they are not consistent when they have an extra week as coach Marvin Lewis has a 4-5 record coming off one.
Cincy has the 22nd ranked defense against the pass, which means they need to do it better against a quarterback like Peyton Manning.
Manning has thrown for 300 yards and three TDs four times this season, and just dismantled the Saints on a Sunday night showdown; even so he had a thumb injury during the game.
“It’s fine,” Manning said about his thumb. “As a quarterback, your biggest fear is hitting your hand on the helmet of a defensive lineman. It’s mostly the nail. Might be sore tomorrow”.
“I was really nervous at first but then I realized what a tough guy he is,” Broncos receiver Brandon Stokley said about Manning’s injury.
The Broncos offense is clicking; they are getting better as Manning is trusting and knowing his receivers. “I’m sure the coaches will find some mistakes on the film,” Manning said. “But it was what we were looking for”.
Cincinnati is 3-10-3 ATS in its last 16 games, but Denver is 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games when playing Cincinnati.
