A NFC north matchup hits the stage when the Detroit Lions take on the Chicago Bears this Sunday at 1 PM ET at Soldier Field, for the NFL week 10.
Both teams are on top of the division tie with a 5-3 record along with the Green Bay Packers; a win will go a long way this Sunday that’s why the NFL odds have this game as a pick’em.
“We are only halfway through the season, and the tale of this season is not going to be written in the first half, it is going to be written in the second half and that is what we have to concentrate on,” coach Jim Schwartz told the Lions’ official website.
The Lions beat the Bears already this season 40-32 despite the fact that Chicago outgained them 417-387 in total yards, in the process.
Detroit has the second best passing team in the NFL with 317.9 yards as an average; they are also the 6th best scoring team in the league. Chicago is second best scoring only behind Denver with 30.0 points per game.
Bears QB Jay Cutler is expected to face the Lions after missing the matchup against the Packers. “As soon as I got hurt I felt like I would be back quicker than they thought,” Cutler said. “I kind of had that mindset throughout the [rehabilitation process].
“At the bye week, I thought that would give me enough time to make a push for this game. Last week I felt like if things kept progressing that I’d definitely have a chance for this game. Early last week I had a sense that this could be a real [possibility].
Detroit is 2-9 SU in its last 11 games when playing Chicago, but 5-1-1 against the spread in the last six meetings.
