The most intriguing matchup of the NFL playoffs wildcard round features the New Orleans Saints visiting the Philadelphia Eagles, this Saturday at 8:10 PM ET at Lincoln Financial Field.
The game has two teams with tremendous offenses playing on a bad weather against defenses that can make plays.
New Orleans has never won a playoffs game away from home and ended the season with a 3-5 record as visitors, including losses in their last three away games.
“They’re a talented group,” Eagles QB Nick Foles said about the Saints. “They’re going to mix it up with their coverages. They’re going to try to put pressure on you at times, and they’re going to try to get to you.
“I think the key to that is that we have to recognize as a team when they’re trying to put pressure on. As the quarterback, I have to recognize which coverage they want to play and what pressure (they’re going to bring), and that’s what this week of preparation is all about. We’re trying to figure out what they’re going to do, and I’m sure they’ll have new things ready to go for us.”
Drew Brees is 5-3 in playoffs games with 20 TDs and only 3 INTs; Nick Foles will make his postseason debut on Saturday; both players graduated from Westlake High School in Austin, Texas.
The Eagles are 2.5 point favorites over the Saints in this one; the game total is currently at 53.5, the highest number of all four Wildcard games.
