The Bears beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday 34-28, but the most-impressive thing about the team was their amazing offense, which seems to have too many weapons for QB Jay Cutler. Chicago didn’t have TE Martellus Bennett because a team suspension, but he’s now back with the first team and will play on Thursday.
“I think I could’ve handled the situation differently,” Bennett said. “We can talk about it right now, but [I would’ve handled it] any way differently than I did. I think everything in life is about learning lessons. Whatever situation you’re going [through], you always learn from it whether it’s good or bad. There’s always a lesson or moral to the story.”
The Jaguars won 16-10 in their first game against the Tampa Buccaneers, but head coach Gus Bradley wasn’t impressed about what rookie QB Blake Bortles showed in the match.
“There was some good stuff, some bad stuff, things that I’ve got to overcome,” Bortles said.
“It’s a process; it’s not going to happen overnight,” he added. “The chemistry felt really good with the second unit. We’ve been working really well together during camp. I thought the offensive line did a really good job of protecting up front.”
There are no lines for this game yet, but I expect the Bears to be favorites for about a field goal.
