  • Deshaun Watson and the Texans are 2.5-point road favorites in Detroit
  • The Steelers look to remain undefeated against a reeling Ravens team on Thursday night

While many of us won’t have as many guests around the dinner table this Thanksgiving, fewer conversations with family mean more time to watch football.

That’s a good thing with three NFL games scheduled this Thursday: Houston/Detroit on CBS at 12:30 pm ET,  Washington/Dallas on Fox at 4:30 pm ET, and Baltimore at Pittsburgh in primetime on NBC.

TEXANS AT LIONS

Losers of three of their last four contests, the 4-6 Lions host a 3-7 Texans team that scored a 27-20 home victory over the Patriots on Sunday.

While Deshaun Watson accounted for 380 total yards and three touchdowns in the win, Matthew Stafford failed to put even one point on the board in a 20-0 loss to the Panthers, who of course just gave up 46 to the Buccaneers the week prior.

With an injured thumb and a receiving corps likely to still be without deep threat Kenny Golladay, Stafford won’t be able to match points with Watson. After Detroit loses its fourth-straight Thanksgiving Day matchup, it’s also fair to wonder if Lions management will finally put a merciful end to the Matt Patricia era.

Pick: Texans +2.5; UNDER 51.0

WASHINGTON AT DALLAS

Dallas will host Washington in an NFC East showdown that’s comically BIG considering both teams are just 3-7. Surprisingly, both clubs are also coming off wins: Alex Smith earned his first W since coming back from a gruesome leg injury with a 20-9 defeat of the Bengals, while the Cowboys notched a 31-28 upset over a hot Vikings team that had won three straight.

Andy Dalton looked serviceable with 203 passing yards and 3 touchdown tosses against Minnesota and will look to avenge a 25-3 loss to Washington in Week 7 where he was forced to leave the game with a concussion.

Given Mike McCarthy’s club has done nothing but disappoint all season long, we like Washington to score the upset in a game that will be surprisingly high scoring.

Pick: Washington +2.5; +120 moneyline; OVER 46.5

BALTIMORE AT PITTSBURGH

Failing to avenge their playoff loss to the Titans on Sunday with a 30-24 overtime defeat, Baltimore has now dropped three of their past four games and looks like a shadow of their former selves with injuries across their defensive and offensive lines.

In a 28-24 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 8,  Lamar Jackson completed just 46.8% of his passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns while losing two fumbles and throwing the first pick-six of his career.

In four games against Mike Tomlin’s club, Jackson has just three total touchdowns and five interceptions while being sacked nine times. His 59.2 passer rating is the second-lowest of any opponents he’s faced.

Still somehow undefeated at 10-0, we like the Steelers to blow out their AFC North rivals on Thanksgiving night, sending Baltimore into crisis mode as they head into December.

Pick: Pittsburgh -4.5; OVER 45.0

Steve Starr

Steve is one of the many Americans who spends Sunday watching football on the couch and gorging on heart-clogging eats. He describes himself as a good father, great dog owner, and mediocre gambler and husband.
